Laser Focused. This is a term used frequently in coaching, however, everyone I’m encountering this month is struggling with focusing on their business. This is a normal during the holiday’s and it easy to feel added stress. Everyday life is probably full enough, but let’s add on Christmas shopping, decorating, extra cooking, entertaining, going to holiday events, and the kid’s being out of school, and it can become overwhelming.
The good news is, this is only temporary. Life as we know it will be back to normal in a few weeks, and with it will come a New Year! Do you have your goals laid out for 2015? Now is the time to start focusing on what you want to accomplish. Just because the world is a busy place right now, doesn’t mean you lose sight of your goals.
If you feel like there are not enough hours in the day, take a deep breath. Try to stick with your schedule as much as possible even if this means shortening the time span. Maybe where you were spending hours making prospective calls, you shorten it to one solid hour.
This is a great time to wish them a happy holiday season, and schedule an appointment for January to get down to business. Instead of looking at your business in the present moment, project what you want to see in January and take action! Then when it’s time to start checking items off your Santa list, you will know you gave your business solid time and commitment, no matter the amount. It’s quality not quantity this time of year.
By using the time you have each day, and taking income producing action, your New Year will be off to a booming start! Stick with it for as many days possible, until it’s time to close up shop and enjoy the season. You will feel disciplined and accomplished and look forward to great things in 2015.
