If you have a Facebook account, you may have been asked to review your year. I had seen some friends do it and thought it was cute, so I gave it a shot. The pictures they chose to share as highlights of my year were quite humorous. A few of them were on point, but one they chose was of me holding my friends dog. I guess they thought it was my dog, and that’s when it hit me. I’m relieved that no one else can map out my life but God and me.
We have been talking a lot about dreams and goals the past few weeks. I hope you have a clear vision of what you want 2015 to look like. Have it written out and displayed somewhere for you to see everyday. Look at it throughout the day and get clear on what it is you want to achieve.
Then put action behind it. It takes consistent daily action to build momentum. Whatever your business or career is, reach out and touch people daily. Whether it’s a series of phone calls, or Networking events, reach out. This is how you build relationships, get your name out there and doors start opening. The time and effort you put into it, is what you will get out of it.
Walk though open doors of opportunity undaunted. So many people are hesitant of the unknown, and that escalates into fear. Don’t allow it. God opens doors for a reason, and it’s our responsibility to walk through. Maybe it doesn’t look like the big time door you’re wanting, but it will take you where you need to be. Sometimes it’s a series of events that get us to that big break.
Learn and keep moving forward. If you make a mistake try not to beat yourself up, or take two steps backwards. Learn and move on. Keep pushing yourself forward. I haven’t met one person yet that self pity looked good on, so don’t give up. Look at your goals, keep your vision clear and go! You have map in hand, clear picture in mind, so don’t allow anyone to put together your year but you!
